My son and I share birthdays in October. Our birthdays are four days apart so we have been eating a lot of yummy junk around here as of late.
Every birthday, I let the kids choose what kind of cake they'd like me to make them. In years past, I'd spend a lot of time and energy making their cakes. This year, they pitched in and helped out. They LOVE it and I think it makes the whole process more special. My oldest chose a robot cake. I don't know what made him come up with that, but I'm glad he did. I found a super easy way to make a robot cake here.
We had a little family party on Sunday for his birthday-seven years old. I can hardly believe it! I keep telling him to stop growing or he'll get in trouble. I don't like all of this growing up business.
