Birthday Fun!

My son and I share birthdays in October.  Our birthdays are four days apart so we have been eating a lot of yummy junk around here as of late.

Every birthday, I let the kids choose what kind of cake they'd like me to make them.  In years past, I'd spend a lot of time and energy making their cakes.  This year, they pitched in and helped out.  They LOVE it and I think it makes the whole process more special.  My oldest chose a robot cake.  I don't know what made him come up with that, but I'm glad he did.  I found a super easy way to make a robot cake here.

We had a little family party on Sunday for his birthday-seven years old.  I can hardly believe it!  I keep telling him to stop growing or he'll get in trouble.  I don't like all of this growing up business.

They were so excited to be able to help decorate!
Fruit by the foot is his "data box".  M&M's are the buttons...

Peach rings are his eyes...

Twizzler arms and Oreo wheels for the feet.  Cute little robot cake :)

Happy birthday song...

Make a wish!

Lego's anyone?  Whew!

The boys got right to work building a Hero Factory guy...

It was my birthday on Saturday.  My mom and dad got me my very first Coach bag!  Ooh Lala!
See you tomorrow.  You can see the skirt I made :)

  1. Aww, what a sweet cake! That is so creative. I love the oreos on the bottom and the little licorice knots at the end of the arms for hands.

My boy is growing up too, and sometimes it brings tears to my eyes. Love em up! By the way, my son LOVES legos too! He's be in seventh heaven with a stack of legos like that! :)

  2. I ♥ birthdays! ♪♫ Happy Birthday to you and your son!♫
