Fabulous Find Friday

Hello there!
We're only into week two of summer vacation and I feel like the summer is going by SO fast.
It's madness I say.  MADNESS.  All winter my kids would see our aquatic center and say, "I wish it was summer!" and now that it's summer, my daughter is saying, "I wish summer was over!"  She wants to be in kindergarten.  It's such a picture of how we can be sometimes... Always wishing for something different but not enjoying or living where we are in the moment to the fullest.
"So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom."  Psalm 90:12

This weeks fab find is something I found at a flea market* in Wisconsin a few weeks back.
Vintage hankies!  They were housed in a vintage suitcase but the lady wouldn't sell that to me ;)
Here are some of my favorites...

Pretty crocheted edge
I love the turquoise roses

I'm a sucker for doilies and anything with lace edging!

Aren't the leaves pretty?

Very patriotic!

This one I bought in Ireland.  The embroidered flowers are so cute.

What in the world will I do with all of these hankies?  I'm not sure yet.  I use a few under frames and vases to add a little luster to my tables and nightstands.  Maybe I'll give some away.   I know I won't be blowing my nose in them.  That's for sure ;)

*Ever wonder why a flea market is called a flea market?  I'm itchy just thinking about it...
Answer from
"The "Marche aux puces Saint-Ouen'' is a colorful market on the northern border of Paris that is a favorite stop for tourists and locals alike. In the winding alleyways that make up the Marche shoppers can hone their haggling skills and perhaps find a rarity among the booths and tables. The Marche aux puces has been in operation for more than a century.
Francophones know that the French phrase "marche aux puces'' literally translates to "flea market.'' George Dougherty wrote in his 1922 book In Europe that the Marche aux puces "is called the 'Flea' Market because there are so many second hand articles sold of all kinds that they are believed to gather fleas.''
